Thanks for your concern. The only thing my son is able to do safely is turn the thing off and on, and adjust the volume. He does operate a television, boom box, etc., in that manner. No tubes are exposed in the console amp. As I do not want to expose him to any special risk, I posted my original message to learn whether and/or how the item could be made safe. Do you agree with Eli's suggestions? If it seems risky, I'll just take the amp out for an eventual office system.Best regards,
