Here are the 2000 series with stylus color:

2000Z gold (and the shank is smaller than the others).
2000E/III clear (no color)
2000E/II blue clear
2000E/I green clear
2000E red clear
2000 smoke clear

So your NOS has the correct stylus.

If somebody is selling the body with any other color stylus, particularly a solid color stylus, the stylus is NOT genuine Empire or is incorrect for that model.

If the little plate you're talking about is not the mounting bracket, it is probably the stylus guard that snaps onto the plastic stylus housing. Earlier models had a stylus without the swing down guard.
