I just bought a Fisher KM-60, recently restored and aligned, from someone in New York City (where we both live). I was on my way to pick it up when the seller called and told me that, in unpacking it to show me the tuner, he cut right through the tuning cord. I'm wondering how significant the resulting repair is going to be. Is this something that a reasonably competent shop (or I) could do? Or is this a fairly sensitive operation that greatly devalues the tuner and requires specialized service? Any suggestions for a good repair shop in NYC??? Thanks so much!
