I had thought about asking him about the short leads but given he took like two weeks to answer my first email, which was very short and hardly explicative, I didn't bother.
I suspect the man is an old timer, well in his 70's or something. Aside from the short leads, the parts appear well made and work very good. The sound of my 10B improved leaps and bounds!
I did save the original optocoupler cans, as I might try to reproduce them in the future. Actually, only one was bad, the other two were good. Decided to replace them wholesale.
BTW, I got them for $50 last year, before he increased his prices. Yeah, not cheap, but I guess they have "added value" given the price of 10Bs!
As for the 7C switch covers, yeah I've seen them listed for 100 clams.
I sold some (supposedly Chinese) reproductions for $68. Not bad methinks!
