Hi, Gene:

AFAIK, there is nothing published, specification-wise, on the LDRs used in the 10-B.

At least, I am unaware of it in the existing literature.

VacTec, Inc., once manufactured a part which worked, but that was quite a long time ago. The parts were called "Vactrols", a trademarked designation, apparently.

In the meanwhile, either try to determine the "dark" Vs. "lit" resistance of a working one and see if the unit uses either an NE-1 or NE-2 lamp. Obviously, you need to remove, cut open and inspect an LDR module to do this sort of thing.

The parts cost practically nothing if you can find them.

You simply have to experiment a bit with the CdS cell sensitivity issue.

If you are unable to do this, or unwilling to remove and open an original one, just see if you can purchase some of the units being offered on occasion over on eBay and pay $100 or more.

I included one seller on eBay who has offered his own home-brew versions in the past.

I have no connection with that seller at all and cannot vouch for what he is offering.

It's your choice, but good luck!

Here is an unusual page full of data on optocouplers, in case you want to read up on the subject:
