I will try all simpler/cheaper way like antenna replacement first.

I also have a fear of the allignment. I live in Europe without a good Marantz service support (if it exist anymore anywhere for this old tuner). I have some documentation of the tuner, and I just hope the repairman will have enough knowledge to do it. Modifying the settings of the oscillating circuits is risky job, isn't it ?
