I have a VERY simple old Kenwood/Trio W8 valve rcvr - with the amps off - as my tuner ....
and ALL (but 3 small/local) stations are on the same tower, too!
The W8's fairly simple tuner stage - restored with basic quality bits - is most unlikely to be as selective as your 10B potentially could be.
At one time there were two stations within 0.8 meg, the most powerful (by a factor of 1000) on the dial at 102.3, and the other a tiddler at 103.1 and about 8kw, and they both came in cleanly. The tiddler station is the OTHER good one AFAIAC, and their sound quality came through very well.
That's why I suggest you check your alignment, there's a simple by ear routine for doing this. But even then, the problem you describe suggests VERY strongly that an alignment might help.
