Hi, Terry:
I happen to have a copy of the owner's manual for the FM-1000 and if you would like to receive a readable copy, please contact me off-line.
The FMR-1 was probably very popular amongst most large broadcasters in its era, but I am curious if you might have obtained your FMR-1 with a broken dial string?
As I said, a friend of mine who lives in SF owns one like that, but I doubt if he would want to part with it. He also owns a rack-faceplate Scott 310-D with the individual racked 335 multiplexer. Those units definitely came out of KPEN and were once used by James Gabbert, whose station was the first to go multiplex stereo here in N. California, in 1961.
I believe that it is quite rare to find any of these units with both meters fully functional. Did you know that the meters were made in Japan?
They were!
Weird, huh?
