Obviously, the highs are the main area where there is distortion with HD. But HD is not like any other compression scheme I've heard - it's still fairly smooth sounding. It takes some getting used to, though.

The one station in my area that broadcasts at 96k sounds pretty good if you take the dynamic compression out of consideration. It's too bad they can't broadcast at this quality with multicast stations. Then it would live up to the hype IMO.
