HD interference on our local f.m. band has been a bone of contention recently, White Fox. Nevada City's KVMR, 89.5 mhz, had damn near blanket signal coverage in Sactown Valley from Stockton to Chico, & out to the coastal ranges. A few years back, though, KVMR added an HD carrier. Which, in wide swaths of Sactown-n-surrounds, buries their analog signal under digital interference from San Fran's local KQED f.m. translator on 89.3 mhz, which also broadcasts an HD carrier. Since KVMR is considered outside Sactown's radio market, unlike KQEC, 'VMR's analog listeners suffer the consequences. This auld analog dxer aint crazy 'bout digital. Got an RCA video unit with ATSC tuner. Aint enamoured of how digital signals literally freeze out from San Fran's Mount Sutro, whilst their analog signal counterpart continues weak-but-readable. Unless the new administration puts a kibosh on that Feb. '09 digital conversion, tv dxers have only one year left to enjoy those distant sporatic "E" visions(methinketh)! Did notice however, White Fox, that KCSM's stereo signal on digital channel 43.3 sounded outstanding!!!
