A friend of mine had a Crane radio a few years ago and he had ongoing problems with the switches and the volume control. I've been using a Zenith D700Y transoceanic and I've been happy with that. The problems that my friend had, doesn't necessarily mean that the newer Crane radios are prone to problems. Harry
