Be careful when increasing the capacitance on the old power supplies I wouldn't increase the value to more than 20-20 uf as the 80 tube can't take high capacitance right off of the cathodes. High capacitance will shorten the tube life or possibly cause a failure. The choke will smooth out a major part of the ac ripple, so you don't need real high capacitance. Harry
