The antenna is at least as important as your tuner. Esp. at a distance!

Can you be more descriptive of the environs of yr house - in re RF! and its/rooms orientation re the wanted distant station/s.

What's the terrain like around you and along 'the line to'* the transmitter/s? Happy to help, but you might need to get a large area topographical map to get across this. Transfer the bearing* to a local topog map, too. And, then, you'll be a lot closer to knowing where you might put an antenna sensibly.
