It seems.IIRC they made the T101 for long enough to change their parts / sources / circuits, to match.
I would never retain tantalum capacitors in audio stages - anywhere. Awful things. I saw them in a NFB/active type RIAA stage once, LOTS of NFB I'd bet! NNNPDrill!!
Part of how I 'do audio' is rebuilding/updating 'old stuff' - but it is for MY (listening) pleasure.
It follows that I began as one unable to get attached to 'originality' or become over genuflectory to a design OR brand.
One dickhead at the HJLeak group couldn't accept my mods of two St20's which ARE amazing, but for their iron and the chosen OPT tubes ONLY. My use of 6CG7's with a CCS as LTP driver splitters - for AUDIO drew particular ire.
Because these tubese are merely 'B&W TV flyback drivers' !!!!!!!!!! and ROTFLMAO. !!!!!!!! AND Pace CJ, HK, McIntosh, Marantz etc etc( ;-) )
BTA - I have not ONE single 'Audio' type bit anywhere. Teflons (milspec) and styros - WIMA, yep, I even tried silvermicas, but mostly it's WIMA MKP's. Even polycarbonate caps!
When someone offers me MKP levels of neutrality, reliabilty, and price in a PIO cap, I'll try some but not until then.
