...by this Yamaha receiver. It's now functioning as a combination 1) Phono preamp, 2) FM tuner, and 3)Headphone amplifier in my system, feeding the analog signal sources to my principal preamp, a Lexicon MC-12. There are separable preamp output/power amp input jacks on the rear and I use the preamp output. Its FM guts appear equivalent to those of a 1990-ish Yamaha TX-350 component tuner. The reception is par excellence in my neck of the woods (actually "neck of the LA basin") and the sound is warm, clear, and shows a deep soundstage.
The headphone output is a little warm and soft, but not at all unpleasant- a little excess of the ol' "Natural Sound" effect.
