Thank you for the response. I am glad to hear you are happy with the performance of the 8500. I believe there is nothing better for urban settings, and your early comments seem to verify this, along with some great reviews that I've read. Also getting it used, which will be the only way one will find this currently, from Byron is the best possible situations one can hope for, excellent luck! :)
As for "hi-chic", appreciate the heads-up but I believe my boat has already sailed with those attempts of blending in to a homestyle setting, my Eminent Technology 8b planars have already taken care of that, something I know you understand based on your speaker history. LOL
Lastly, and curiously what tuner are you currently using? Sadly it's so hard to find any really good local analog radio stations anymore. Free, and well broadcast music seems to have become a thing of the past and possibly soon distinct.
But for now, cheers and enjoy all that jazz....
