ABC Classic FM uses the AAC codec, I think.I can assure you that the FM broadcasts sound a lot nicer, more musical, more apt, nuanced and detailed.
If it is overnight (here in Aussie) programming there will be less station and recording promos.
One of the best things is the concerts live and recorded.
I also record acoustic/classical concerts for our local community arts and music station - ARTsound FM. We use the Australian made Rode cardioid condenser mikes in a near coincident pair on a stereo bar and Marantz digital recorders.
