that is an issue with indoor active antennas, but the RFI/EM generated within the home by all the switching supplies and microprocessors we all now own.
The significance of what's inside and outside depends on where we are and what we are close to! Power lines, possibly not an issuse, but DIY welders, back-yard mechanics ......
Faraday Cages? Our house is - I think - a partial one. We used to operate a heating system of metal mesh in HTemp plastic directly over the gyprock ceiling panels. We haven't yet had it disconnected from the mains though it is OFF, but it is probably grounded still.

Mobile phone reception is poor inside, but improves rapidly as we move away from the house by a few feet.
I should get the grounds - and mains wiring - disconnected, soon ...... . ;-) When I get me a round-tuit.
