Variable AM capacitor stuck

Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

Hallo ! Have got an old , 1965-68 , Tandberg Receiver . The variable capacitor is built in a box ( sealed ) and the axis is stuck. Can anybody give me an advice what to do ? I guess its possible to unskrew and disconnect the capacitor and open it and examine ..... but its a lot of work
and carefulness needed if I have to choose that ....
