Home Radio Road

Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

Last, or latest?

I'm glad you like the new caps. But as you, yourself discovered, long term listening will be the final arbitrator of whether this will be your last upgrade, or you'll move on to new caps.

I've been there myself. I've put some new caps in, and as you said, "Wow!" You immediately notice the improvements over the old caps. Then, over time, their sonic short-comings begin to reveal themselves.

Cap rolling is generally easy to do, and can be a lot of fun, albeit an expensive bit of fun, if boutique caps are used.

Speaking of which, if the new Jupiter Flat Stacked capacitors eventually turn out to be "too bright" as well, you might want to consider some Russian K-40 oil caps. They're generally very smooth sounding caps, and if you buy them from ebay surplus sellers, or even one of the Asylum members, they won't empty your wallet the way some of the Name Brand caps can.

Have fun, and keep us posted.
