I sold Yamaha in the 80's and kept in touch with friends in the business, through the 90's, so I have heard a lot of Yamaha preamps. In my system, I have had a C-60 and a C-4. However, the C-2x is the only one of the line (C2, C2a, C2x) that I have heard extensively, although I expect all three are worth having. I really love this preamp. My search has ended for a preamp. It does everything I want.
