Some FM stations broadcast digital info on the skirts of the transmitted signal. In stereo mode that can affect most multiplexer designs without filtering after the I.F. & distort the analog received signal. A few multiplexers are immune to the digital signal by design. Some tuners have a tight I.F. filtering that eliminates the HD noise.
