check the RF input connector. It could be damaged or bad. Look at the center pin closely both inside and outside the tuner. Usually the T-85 needs radio shack part 278-291 push on F connector or similar to attach an antenna.
You can also make a 75 ohm dipole from a 2 conductor speaker cable. Split it at 30 inches to make a 60 inch wide T. Attach directly to 75 ohm input.
