It is worth it. The audiophile mods do improve the sound quite a bit. I'm waiting for my second moded Sony to arrive. I have a 10B, 20B and Scott 350B. I have loved the sound of the tubed tuners, and the 20B also sounds very nice. On tuesday my favorite classical station will move to a lower powered and distant (30 miles) transmitter. The modded sony with a C.Crane Direct/Reflect dipole pulls in the weaker signal cleanly and clearly, and the others do not.
Get the forced analog mod. It's nice to have the option of the analog signal.
