...standing currents in the amp using the Plitrons?I understand the advantages of using such traffos - ultra wide bandwidth, huge inductance etc - but have always been really about the saturation effects possible in toroidals with even a small amount of DC current imbalance in the output tubes. With my circuits using conventional EI OPTs I find one must balance (and KEEP balanced) these currents to well under 1mA - while Lundahl C-cores (which have an intentional small air gap) are fine up to about 5mA imbalance.
Thoughts? Experience?
