I agree with you to jack..You have to upgrade vintage amps to sound the best they can..Now I do use nos vitq pio caps which are fantastic even today becuase of that transformer oil they used which is no longer avaiable.Cds have changed things because they have lot of dynamics and when I see people want to keep the same filter cap values in a dynaco st70 it makes sick because that amp has so much potential to sound as good or better than many amps you buy today once you mod them. Of course they are no longer a dynaco once you mod them but Im like you in the sense I want the best sound I can get out an amp and that means putting in better and more modern componets.
