If capacitance is an issue, I'd have to go with the 87 although it's range is limited (I think 20mfd is max) Day to day the 87 is usually the first meter I grab. Another choice is the 8060A. It's not an autoranger and doesn't do capacitance but it's 4 1/2 digits, more accurate and measures db.

I don't have a Simpson but I do have my trusty Triplett. I bought it when "Hector was a puppy" because it had a 300,000 ohms/volt sensitivety and broad range. Analog meters still come in handy from time to time.
