still, 25k is more than two orders of magnitude higher than what is easily achievable. It is also ~3x the input Z of my amps. Either way, for reasonable reasons, both theoretical and percieved sonics, I am sticking with what has been working quite well. For the same reasons a grid choke works so well, a low value resistor is a reasonable choice.

When the output Z is lower( as in lower volume setting ), the upper leg is performing like a high pass filter...So, if the source can drive it, go with a lower value pot, and stay active.
