that dielectric absorbtion of many of the common insulations such as PVC are detrimental to sound quality. Basically what happens is that the insulation itself is storing a tiny amount of energy and then returning it a short time later. It is claimed by some that this leads to an audible smearing of the musical information. The prop. head forum would probably be the best place to inquire if you desire more info. Personally I would consider it for caps and perhaps long runs of wires in certain situations but I consider it a non-factor for the short (ideally) lengths of wire used for B+ wiring.
