Jolida JD202A Mod Update

Just a couple days ago I recieved my JAN GE 12BH7
Replaced the 12AT7 drivers with these

I had the JAN GE 5751 in the gain stage

I got plenty of bass drive -low and deep
and great treble extension -crystalline
but a dry midrange

Inserted the JAN Philips 12AT7
into the gain stage

It took a couple of minutes to settle in
but !!!WOW!!! the sound is BIG and BOLD
yet without any sign of grain or edge

The highs not as crystalline but more liquid
and more connected to and part of the music.
The mids are fluid with body almost tangible
The bass is deeper and more defined but still musical

I have since noticed that it does take longer
for these tubes to stabalize to sound their best
-Usually 10 to 15 minutes

They're not as laid back as I had before
but it isn't in your face either

The sound stage is more even with the speakers
but just as wide as it was before

I haven't heard this deep bass from Arro's ever
Even driven with the SS Simm Audio (Moon) seperates

It's not like a peak in the bass
It's more like the amp doesn't care
how much power the speaker needs
It just provides it.

The volume control is at 11 to 12 o'clock (normal level)
but I can go all the way to full without any clipping
and it used to clip at 1 o'clock

It has better drive, with better sound and can play louder
I think it is a winner all around

Next I have some RCA 6072 coming in,
to try in the gain stage

I don't know if I can stand it
if it gets better than this :^)
>>But I've got to try <Will post with my further findings
