I believe many people have reached the opposite conclusion. In my case, I tried 211s with several types of DC supplies. All of them sounded flat and lifeless compared to a simple filament transformer. Hum was a problem though, so I eventually used an ultrasonic supply. Luckily, that proved to be just as nuanced as 60 Hz AC. I haven't tried the DC supplies you use, but the ultrasonic supplies are inexpensive, and they resolve the issue of degraded sonics. Additionally, I don't have to worry about the DC gradient across the cathode, and how it might affect all the internal mechanisms of the tube. :)
