Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

It's more than that

Under no circumstances should anyone wire across a protection relay in a solid state amp. The relay does usually eliminate pops at turnon/turnoff, but a more significant function is to de-energize if the protection circuit senses a DC offset at either output channel. That protects the speaker if a power amp channel fails and also hopefully prevents the amplifier from catching on fire.
