I spent this afternoon trying out different plate current values on the 813's, and listening to them with music I know well. I did not change anything else but the cathode resistor, (of course that effected the plate volts a tad too) but it stayed in the vicinity of 415 to 430 vdc. With things the way they are right now, and to my ears, the best sound is at a plate current of about 70 mA. I will try this again as I develop things more (still waiting on some parts) but I really don't expect it to change much. Of course the caveat remains that this is to MY ears. YMMV.
