Remove balance circuit

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

I have BT Beepree preamp which used 100k log volume pot in conjunction with 100k linear pot for balance. I want to take away the balance circuit. I have two step potentiometers on hand 100k log and 50k log. How will you do the modification? 1) just drop in 50k log potentiometer. 2) put in 100k log potentiometer and add resistors. Then what value of the resistors I need?
