Not sure why you think I didn't like the =C= 6550Cs. I believe they were somewhat better than competing 6550s such as say the EH6550WEs or Tungsol reissue 6550s or the various contemporaneous Chinese 6550s in terms of life and general ruggedness. They weren't really competitive with NOS GE 6550As, or real Tungsol or Sylvania 6550s in these regards but at least were readily available. Bottom line is that while somewhat "better" than "standard" current production 6550s, I wouldn't pay a premium for them over what's currently available.
