I just changed the phase inverter and the 12BH7 voltage amp and the distortion numbers improved even at 48 watts..

So you were right.Even at 48 watts this amp maintains it low distortion which is another attribute of that output stage working in conjunction with that bootstrapped driver.
If I put in new output tubes,it will go even lower and power output may increase as well..I did back off a tiny bit but 48 watts ain't none too shabby at .11%. At 50 watts,it would go up to .21% which isn't bad either and still beats rated spec of .25% at 30 watts.
