Thanks for responding, I should have been more descriptive for this particular amp.

Selected input feeds a balance control then 1st half of AU7 provides some gain and feeds optional Baxandall tone controls then on to volume control which then feeds 7247's in the output section. The second half of the AU7 is part of the tone control circuit. Obviously one AU7 for each channel hence my concern over the additional heater current.
