Vinnie,You NEVER wanna add resistance to the Finals of a DHT's B+ filter. Its the K.O.D., " Kiss of Death " for DYNAMICS preservation.
Run high voltage and lower the current.
Remember to shoot for a Golden Ratio plate dissipation, which is 62% of the 45's 10 Watt maximum rating, or, 6.2 Watts. This will allow the 45s to LAST a LONG time, with minimal degrade. If you have to "push" the dissipation, to make the amp sound good, you are faulty in other areas of your amps implementation, caps, wiring, chokes are likely culprits.
My next Type 45 amp, a 2016 build, is targeted to use this :
236.5 VDC P-K
-49.8 VDC bias
0.026 A. current
6.14 Watts, plate dissipationHave fun,
Jeff Medwin
