I like DAK's suggestion. This kind of mod usually produces big benefits in the direction Nietzsche is asking for. There is not much that can go wrong as long as the film cap voltage ratings are sufficient and capacitances reasonably close to stock (can be a bit smaller). Main difficulty is finding space, since the film caps will be larger than the electrolytics they replace. Mike Samra has made a lot of posts about the kinds of caps to use for this.
