I wasn't really trying to copy Willie's amp exactly, I was just trying to see if the single tube 26 preamp circuit I put toghether could be adapted to something like Wille's amp. Turns out it can. In the coming months I will first build the single 26 preamp in stereo, then I will breadboard my version of the 26/26/45 amp and experiment with different operating points as an educational exercise and to decide which ones sound best to me. Most likely I will eventually build some version of my the 26/26/45 for a permanent part of my equipment.
