That said, I have a Nobis Cantabile [based on the Dynaco 70, with the Sutherland solid state first stage] that quit working. Nobis was built locally, and Brian, the man who designed it, is no longer reachable. I last heard serious health issues, which is a shame as he is a great guy. He also had a retail store called Sound Investments, now closed.
Some of you may know that Nobis became Signature Technology. I used their Nobis Proteus preamp for many years. Brian modified it for me with better caps and a Dact volume control. I just recently upgraded, and traded in the preamp.

So, I talked to a local tech, and he says that getting the amp up and running would probably be simple, but. Big BUT, he says that the FETs in the solid state first stage get noisy, and are no longer available. I was going to have it repaired and put it up for sale. It sold new for $1795, and at one time, got a good review in Stereophile [see link].

Ok, the cabinet all nice solid wood, transformers, and most of the rest of the amp is in excellent condition. I have a set of 4 tubes, plus two more that all test good on my Eico tube tester. My question is there a place other then here, or Audiogon, where I should list it for sale? And if it was working, I'd be asking around $800. What is a fair price, and what is something like this worth?

I realize I'm on thin ice here, but I really don't know if I should consider parting it out, or hope a Dynaco fan will buy it whole.
If you think we shouldn't discuss price in the forum, please email me.
