RE: damper diode heaters

I've used 6BY5G damper diodes in a few amps.
6.3v/2A filament transformers are cheap, and do not take up a lot of chassis space either.
Using a dedicated 6.3V source for your rectifier tube, also keeps your power transformer cooler.
