I don't know if I should even tell you this now, but that is the preamp the 26 will be replacing. My 76 is the Bruce Bernam design from SP issue 13, the one that the JE labs preamp is based on. Both are great preamps, and I am sure you will be very happy with yours. Congratulations on a good diy project!I built mine several years ago and it has been my only preamp up until I breadboarded this 26 circuit. The 26 seems to have some real magic driving a dht triode like the 300B's I use in my 91A clone.
What amp are you using the preamp with? If it has dht triode output tubes you might want to breadboard the 26 just for a comparison. It is a very simple circuit and takes no time to put together. It was the debugging that drove me crazy, but you may not have that problem.
