RE: damper diode heaters

While a separate transformer for the rectifier heaters provides some power-up flexibilities, the 6AU4 carries a DC h to k rating of -900V so you can probably get away with one ground referenced 6.3VAC heater winding for everything.

Don't have a 6AU4 in front of me but most damper diodes have a plainly visible spiral insulator thing between the filament and the inner cathode tube. This provides for both the relatively high h to k voltage rating AND a really slow warm-up approaching 30 sec.
