RE: Tube tester recco

This website provides some good reading on pro and con of various types and models.

I have always been a proponent of the philosophy that the in-circuit performance is the best test. Thus, if it's working properly in the circuit there is no need to test it. I use a simple emission tester to quickly cull out a batch of tubes for shorts, opens, and basic function. Then try in the circuit. Works for me.

Now, if someone wants to sell on ebay, that's a whole different matter. But you did not list that as a goal.
