Rectifier Valves

Hi Everyone.

I am busy trying to restore an ancient Rauland PA amplifier (I think it dates from the late 40's/ early 50's)

anyway. One of the rectifier valves is smashed and I am looking for a suitable replacement.

The original rectifier tube was a thing called a 5v4g

the thing that I can find locally that looks the closest is called a 5x4g

however some of the ratings are different and the pinout is definitely different.

Are these too dissimilar for me to use the 5x4g as a replacement for the 54vg if I change the pin connections in the socket?

I am a complete valve newbie so I have no idea what I am looking for!
any help or suggestions would be great!
thanks

I am sure I left it here somewhere....
