NON Ultrapath, max ripple to a 2A3 in SE mode is 850 mVAC. P-P 2A3s is 2 VAC.

The compromises you have to make using high stored energy, "out of time" devices ( high HY chokes and high uF caps ) for a low ripple supply, make Ultrapath out of the question for my tastes and ears, for any DHT finals stage.

The 2A3 is a " direct access to the music " audio device, and as such, it requires as good a supply as you can design and build for it. The thoughtfulness and goodness of the supply, determines the 2A3 amps performance - more than ANY other factor.

The best sounding configuration I know of for a SE 2A3, after 33 years of messing with DHT finals, is L non Critical....L1/C1/L2/C2, no L over 10 Ohms L1 = L2, C1 < C2, no C over 50 uF . Tube rectifiers are excellent sonically, try a DHR ( directly heated rectifier....5U4GB ( JJ ) or a 5V3, 5V3A. )
