Not sure what you mean by "continuous ground" for ICs. The IC's in this system are a combination of Cardas and DH Labs. When I build them I connect the shield if available on the input side of the IC and leave disconnected at the output.

I lifted the signal ground in the crossover and that helped. Lifting the mains ground did not help so I left connected (also for safety). This is the first time I've not connected signal ground to the mains ground for unbalanced system.
