Ok, found another problem; I had the center tap on the 5v winding for the 5ar4 grounded and it should not have been. Took that off and I am now getting B+.
I am using a hammond 278x power tranny rated at 400-0-400, so if I put a probe on each plate of the 5ar4 should I read close to 800 vac or 400 vac?
I stopped before I got to full power, but I was at 600+ vac with a probe on each 5ar4 plate with a B+ of 330 vdc. It looks like if I were at 800 vac on the plates I would be close to the 400+ vdc I am supposed to have for B+.
