Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

Rooskie options.

Why on earth would a DIY guy ever buy expensive boutique caps, when the Russian caps are still available and relatively cheap, is beyond me. K40Y-9s are very good PIOs for couplers, FT-3 teflons great as well for teflon fans, also the K75s (hybrids) are interesting for "technicolor" mids, my fave couplers (bar none) are the SSG silver and micas. The KBG-MNs are the best parafeed cap I've ever used. They're my go to cap when I need a high quality cap from 1-10uf values. MBGO series are very good in power supplies and stacked in parallel for cathode bypass duties, they are the best cap I've found in values more than 10uf. The MBGOs are metalized paper and some mystery waxy substance. The only drawback to the Rooskie caps are their size.
